Since the founders settled, agriculture has been the heart of  America The family farm represents the traditions and heritage upon which our country was built. Today, those individuals and families, who followed in the foot steps of their ancestors, continue to produce crops and livestock on that same land. The Century Farms Program recognizes and honors those individuals and families who have owned the farm land for 100 years or more.

According to the USDA, American farmers produce crops for more than 313 million    people living in the U.S. — but they aren't just feeding America; U.S. farmers ship their    commodities worldwide, exporting more than 50 types of agricultural products.  The USDA reports the vast majority of farms and ranches in the United States are family owned and   operated. In fact, 97 percent of the 2.1 million farms in the United States today are family owned.
